Tom Delay Hangs Up Dancing Shoes, Quits Dancing with the Stars

Former House Majority Leader and horrible dancer Tom Delay announced his withdrawal from Dancing with the Stars yesterday due to stress fractures on both of Delay’s feet.  This after he danced the samba with partner Cheryl Burke to the tune of the 70’s hit “Why Can’t We Be Friends” originally recorded by the band War.  Delay’s samba posed a provocative question about today’s political climate by asking (through dance) why Democrats and Republicans can’t be friends.  The theme’s deep message was symbolized by Delay’s shirt festooned with the Republican elephant, which naturally represented the Republican Party, and Cheryl Burke’s dress emblazoned with the Democratic donkey representing the Democratic Party.  The roughly minute and a half samba didn’t have an answer to the question, only a celebration of political harmony and bipartisanship that only dance can accomplish.

Tom Delay Does Horrible Job at Dancing with the Stars, Barely Survives Elimination

Not to be mean or anything but Tom Delay did a pretty bad job Monday night at Dancing with the Stars.  The opening was ok  but the dance waned as time went along with the fatigued Delay failing to keep up with his dancing partner, Cheryl Burke.  At the end of the tango, Delay stumbled when he tried to hold up his partner, a big no no in the world of dance.  The former House Majority Leader looked really disappointed or hurt due to his stress fracture on his foot (I couldn’t tell) during the judge’s comments portion.  Ultimately, Delay received a score of 18 from the judges, tied with the lowest of the night along with “modelpreneur” Kathy Ireland.
